I've been visually impaired since birth.
Throughout my childhood, well-meaning adults focussed on what I couldn’t do.
In 2021 I celebrated 10 years of running my successful Will Writing business, and proving the doubters wrong.
In October 2022 I published my memoir “She Will Never…” in 2022. It is honest, funny and moving in places, and also includes practical tips for those facing sight loss at any age.
My husband is totally blind, and we have a fourteen year old son. The book also covers their day-to-day challenges.
As a baby
I have been visually impaired since birth and an eye-consultant told my parents that I’d never be able to thread a needle, among other things.
Oh how wrong they were!
Growing up
I grew up in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
As an only child, I attended Wakefield Girls’ High School before Worcester College for the Blind and studied Law at Nottingham Trent University.
As an adult
I’ve been running a successful business as a Will Writer since 2011.
I live in Nottingham with my husband, Martyn, who is blind, and our son, Matthew.
My love for the theatre and amateur dramatics has led me to becoming an active member of West Bridgford Dramatic Society.
I also enjoy meals out, music and history.
